Project Description

I am inspired by the natural world and my immediate surroundings.

Marine life, animals, butterflies, birds, interiors of rooms, trees and places where I have lived are all a part of my artistic repertoire. My main medium is intaglio printmaking. I find the raised, delicate lines, either engraved, or corroded in an acid bath, incredibly beautiful and, paired with the painterly application of ink as in a monotype, atmospheric and sensuous.

Since graduating from RMIT and Monash University in 1992 I have worked as a practicing sculptor, printmaker and art educator. My work has been exhibited widely in commercial and regional galleries in Victoria and interstate and is included in museum, corporate and private collections. Significant Public Art commissions include; Melbourne City Council, Wind Contrivance, 1995; City of Boroondara, 4 Large Wood Carvings, 1997; Albury Wodonga Development Corporation, Feather and Leaf, 2004; Hobsons Bay City Council, Seaborn, 2005; as well as being shortlisted for six other public art projects taken through to the design stage. In 2007 I completed a Master of Fine art at Monash University.
