This new series of mix media work explores the cloud motif, as an entity that is in perpetual flux. The cumulus form provides a conceptual grounding for exploration of ‘higher consciousness’. Seeking to share a portal that connects us to our internal and external environment.
Through articulating these ideas, the process of making and meditating on the materials at hand, contribute greatly to the way I bring together the work on physical and psyche level, exploring various methodologies within the printmaking medium. The monoprint process builds on many layers of thinly rolled out ink to a copper plate onto rag paper and vintage linen. Whilst the photogravure expands on traditional and digital technologies of image making, one which relates to shifting states and material history. The circular cumulus and ephemeral ink surface, also points to the layered way we understand ourselves and the world around us; a way which like the environment it observes is in constant change.
