Gwen Scott, Artist Talk
Jan 20 3:00 pm–5:00 pm
Join Gwen Scott for an artist talk and demonstration during QG&W’s Lustre exhibition
Gwen Scott lives in Melbourne, Australia and works from her home studio producing original colour and black & white limited edition prints. Gwen works full-time as a printmaker and specialises in the reduction technique to produce her colourful prints. All her prints are hand cut and hand pulled by her and the finest 100% cotton rag paper, oil-based inks and linoleum are used.
Gwen’s iconography stems from her interests in classical mythology, the human form, animals, human lifecycle, surrealism, gardens & landscapes and the every-day.
Gwen has held numerous solo exhibitions and regularly participates in group shows, print exchanges and competitions and has won awards for her reduction linocut prints – one of which includes the Printmaking Merit Award at Inkmasters this year for the print Refuge (shown above).
Gwen’s work is held in many public and private collections around Australia and features during QG&W’s summer exhibition, Lustre.
Come along and chat with Gwen, listen to a quick talk about her practice and also view a brief demonstration as Gwen shows us how she makes her work. We welcome all guests to stay after the talk and enjoy a glass of wine with the artist.
