OUTLINE

This workshop is totally tailored to the individual. Each participant will explore the Mezzotint technique with Master Mezzotint printmaker, Graeme Peebles at their own level and be able to set their own agenda.

The course will look at various ways of preparing a traditional Mezzotint ground and participants will have the chance to draw on Graeme’s extensive experience with the technique and explore the various effects of Mezzotint. Graeme will cover, scraping and burnishing of the plate through to colouring and print methods.

Participants will be provided with one copperplate but are welcome to work on as many plates as they wish. Pre-rocked plates can be arrange upon applications and order. Participants are welcome to bring in existing plates for feedback/development. Graeme is flexible and welcomes participants to establish their own agenda and time schedule.

Recommended minimum 4 sessions approx $250 per session

INCLUDED: One copperplate, 2 full sheets of paper, a scraper, studio use and printing materials (ink, 300gsm Somerset paper). Tea. Glass of wine/cheese and critique on completion
NOT INCLUDED: Coffee (gold coin donation), drawing journal, accommodation and food. Plenty of food choice in Queenscliff
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS: Athelstane, Clydesville, Queenscliff and Coastal Holidays, Salt Loft, Seaview House or Vue Grand
BRING: An apron and wear protective footwear.
