Project Description

Katherine is a Melbourne based printmaker and visual artist who incorporates printmaking techniques with other mediums to create works which explore the notion that art may be purely decorative.

Her inspiration comes from found images and photographs taken.  Intrinsically and instinctively motivated, she abstracts colours, patterns, and motifs found in nature, architecture, interiors and textiles creating works that are layered with textures and random marks; juxtaposing decoration and art.

Katherine completed her Visual Arts Diploma (Printmaking) at RMIT University in 2010.

Her work has been exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, in select group and award exhibitions and is represented in public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia and the Brooklyn Art Library in Brooklyn, New York.
