Learn, be inspired (and very entertained!) with artist and printmaker David Frazer.
Be assured this workshop will provide participants with a thorough understanding of linocut and wood engraving. Learn to use all the materials from tools to press, as well as make your own prints.
David is an expert in the field of linocut and wood engraving having produced his own works for over 40 years. Using the various tools and learning the tricks of the trade from David directly, he will also share his insights on how to create distinct shadowing, shading, and various textures.
This workshop will be advantageous for any experience level. The class will be kept to a maximum of 6 participants to ensure each participant spends alot of time with David.
Saturday – Linocut
- Develop a variety of mark making and learn to print with and without a press
- Produce a black and white linocut
Sunday – Wood engraving
- Learn the history of this age old romantic printmaking medium and the tricks of the trade
- Produce two black and white crisp engravings
SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED: All levels and experience.
INCLUDED: All materials.
NOT INCLUDED: Drawing journal, take-home kits, accommodation and food. Plenty of food choice in Queenscliff.

Invoices provided upon arrival. Payments will be refunded if the workshop facilitator or QG&W cancel the workshop (in unforeseen circumstances). If you are unable to attend, you must notify us at least three weeks prior to the course date. A cancellation fee of $100 will apply for cancellations made within three weeks of the chosen date.
